Belgium: Heightened security alert in Brussels for Belgium-Israel in European Football Championship qualifier

It is the first time Belgium has imposed such drastic security measures.   

EJP reports:

Belgian authorities took drastic security measures for the Football European Championship’s qualifier match between Belgium and Israel Tuesday in Brussels.
 
Backpacks and any other bags will not be allowed in the stadium to avoid people to hide weapons or a bomb. Everyone will be asked to show his ID at the stadium entrance and fans will be submitted to additional body searches.
There will also be a massive police presence at the King Baudouin stadium.
In Belgium, any event involving Israel implies extra security which means a threat level 3 (orange alert) decreed by Ocam, the threat assessment coordination body, a security source said.  Read more.
